DR. MARK A. KELLEY, MD.
Mark A. Kelley, M.D., a physician executive and educator, is on staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital and has joined HBS as a visiting scholar. He recently served as an Advanced Leadership Fellow at Harvard University. After his undergraduate and medical education at Harvard, Dr. Kelley trained in internal medicine, and pulmonary-critical care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. As professor of medicine at Penn, he served in a variety of leadership roles including Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, when he led physician and hospital network development of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Thereafter, Dr. Kelley served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the Henry Ford Health System, one of the nation’s leading integrated delivery systems. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Henry Ford Medical Group, one of the nation's largest academic group practices and was responsible for quality, research and educational programs across the System.
During Dr. Kelley’s twelve years as its chief physician, the Health System received the following recognitions for health care quality: the Codman Award from the Joint Commission, the John Eisenberg Award from the National Quality Forum, and the Baldrige Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Dr. Kelley is a published authority in medical education and physician workforce and has won numerous teaching awards. He has served as chairman of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and its Foundation. He has been a director of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education; the American Board of Medical Specialties; and the American Medical Group Association (AMGA). He has also served on the HHS Council on Graduate Medical Education (COGME). He is currently a commissioner for the Joint Commission, which accredits hospitals and other health care organizations.
Dr. Kelley is a Master of the American College of Physicians, that society's highest recognition. His current interests include health care quality, physician leadership development and medical economics.
Prakash was a partner with the global private equity firm HandsOn3 and was a 2013 Advanced Leadership Fellow at Harvard University. With over 25 years experience in the information technology industry, Prakash Shukla brought valuable expertise to his prior role at Taj Hotels a Tata Enterprise. As CIO at Taj, he was responsible for total IT deployments at the Taj Group and was on the MD's management committee. With a background in some of the industry's most venerable corporations-Unisys / Sperry and IBM-Prakash has provided IT solutions for numerous clients: Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Paine Webber and Solomon Smith Barney. In addition, Prakash was an early investor and board member of Speech&Software Technologies (a Tata promoted company), TravelGuru Sequoia funded indian centric travel portal. Early investor in Transerv, base of the pyramid payment solution provider. Prakash also formulated and launched base of pyramid hotel chain Ginger Hotels in consultation with CK Prahalad. Launched MangoTree PE fund seeded by the Tata Group. An American national, Mr. Shukla is a graduate of Rutgers University with degrees in Electrical Engineering and English, and New York University with a Master's degree in Computer Science. Mr. Shukla attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and was 2013 Advanced Leadership Fellow at Harvard University.
Jyoti is a business leader with 35 years of work experience, including 16 years of senior leadership positions in the hospitality industry. Jyoti was the Chief Operating Officer of Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces, India. The Taj group manages a large and varied portfolio of 122 hotels spread across 5 continents. Before her current operations stint, Jyoti was the Global Head of Marketing for the Taj Group. Jyoti has a Bachelors in Economics and an M.B.A in Finance. She has attended Executive programs at Wharton School of Management, IMD Lausanne and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Her contribution led her to be recognized as the most powerful woman in the travel industry worldwide by Travel Agent, a leading US trade weekly.
DR. MURTHY SATYANARAYANA, PH.D.
Murthy has over 20 years experience as a top technology scholar and professional. He is an expert in the development of algorithms for speech recognition and text to speech synthesis. He has provided the engineering and led teams to develop applications in industries ranging from telecommunication to hospitality and finance. Murthy has a Ph.D. in Speech and Signal Processing from the Department of Electrical Engineering as well as a Master of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai.
DR. DOUG WEAVER, MD.
Dr. Doug Weaver is a past president of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and a Master of the ACC. He has served as the Division Head of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director of the Henry Ford Cardiovascular Institute and as Chief Medical Officer of Heart and Vascular Services at the Henry Ford Health System and Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University in Michigan. Dr Weaver is an active consultant to pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the design and monitoring of clinical studies to develop new treatments for heart, eye, and other rare diseases. He has been an active leader of multi-center clinical trials and has published more than 300 original articles. He has been the recipient of several NIH, American Heart Association, and industry-sponsored grants. Dr. Weaver was named by Castle Connolly as one of “America’s Top Doctors.” He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at the University of Washington. Practiced Cardiology in Germany for the United States Army Medical Corps for three years.
